Beatriz was awarded a DVM from the University of Extremadura in Spain in 2006 and then undertook a PhD which focused on equine spermatozoa cryopreservation and their response to osmotic shock at the same university. Following a series of externships in Sweden and the USA then a 3 year postdoc position at the University of Porto (Portugal), and a second postdoc at the Centro de Cirugía de Mínima Invasión Jesús Usón (Spain), Beatriz currently works at the Veterinary Clinical Hospital of the University of Extremadura where she conducts her research on equine oocyte maturation, in vitro fertilization and embryo production in vitro.
